Our news team inquired from the PAFFREL organization on how to vote during the Northern, North Western and Central provincial council elections.

Executive director of the PAFFREL organization Rohana Hettiarachchi stated that voters should first place their vote for a party of their choice and then place their preferential vote for a candidate of their choice.

Speaking further he stated that while voters can place one preferential vote each for up to 3 candidates, voters cannot cast all 3 votes for the same candidate.

Meanwhile, the PAFFREL organization has deployed 4500 observers to monitor the election.

In addition, a coordinating centre has been established at the election secretariat to receive complaints regarding the election.

Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya stated that centers have been established in all 3 provinces by the election secretariat where the public can lodge complaints related to the election.
